Hello, my name is Britney Jones from Tarboro, North Carolina. I graduated from Tarboro High School. I am now attending Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. As a current freshman at ECSU I am majoring in Computer Science.

The Computer Science field became an interest to me when I attended a career fair and a fellow student from ECSU told me about his Geographic Information System (GIS) research and travel experience. He told me if I were willing to learn, there would be plenty of job opportunities awaiting me. Programming computers, learning new computer languages/codes, and operating a computers from the hard drive, are the things I look forward to doing in my future career.

To give me a head start to becoming more aware of computers, I am currently in an undergraduate research scholarship program named the, Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research. During this scholarship program, I plan to enhance my knowledge in programming, software, and remote sensing. My expectation for the program is to help aid me with the development of my professional skills so I am well qualified for internships and other future opportunities.
